Fraser Valley recording artist, Michael Jantzen, carves out his own space between folk and country. He has a gift for weaving introspection into poetic narrative and stick-in-your head melodies. Combined with his nuanced baritone and delicate guitar playing, he creates a distinct and inviting brand of roots music.

He is joined by fiddler extraordinaire, Jennie Bice, who has been making her indelible mark on the Canadian music scene for nearly two decades. With her uncanny ear for crafting the perfect melodic tapestry, she elevates songs to places so beautiful it's surreal. It's no wonder she's in such high demand as an accompanist and studio musician.

The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte in the original German) was written for a theater located just outside Vienna with the clear intention of appealing to audiences from all walks of life. The story is told in a singspiel (“song-play”) format characterized by separate musical numbers connected by dialogue and stage activity, an excellent structure for navigating the diverse moods, ranging from solemn to lighthearted, of the story and score.
